UK public sector

Government departments and arm's-length bodies are the core of our practice. It is the sector we know best and the one we are built around.

  • Education & Skills Funding Agencynow part of DfE
  • Department for Work & Pensions
  • The Insolvency Service

What is different here

The architecture is rarely the hard part

Getting a design through a departmental assurance process takes longer than producing the design. Suppliers who have only worked commercially tend to under-estimate this by an order of magnitude, and the delay gets blamed on the department.

We have been through it. We know what a design authority will ask, what evidence an assurance panel expects, and how change control actually operates when the change window is fixed and the service is public-facing.

Assurance and governance

Architecture documentation in the form your design authority expects, and policy evidence exportable on request rather than assembled on demand.

NCSC Cloud Security Principles

Azure control mapping against the fourteen principles, with the gaps named rather than averaged into a score.

Procurement routes

We are used to working within framework and contracting constraints rather than around them.

Data residency and sovereignty

UK region design, and the questions about data location answered before they are asked.

If you are a department or ALB, we can give you a reference from a comparable engagement, someone who has been through the same assurance process.

What is the assurance deadline you are working back from?

Public sector work runs to somebody else's calendar. Tell us the date and we will tell you honestly whether it is reachable, and what would have to happen first.
